Mu Phi Epsilon International Music Fraternity

Mu Phi Epsilon is a coeducational, Professional Music Fraternity which was
founded by Dr. Winthrop S. Sterling and Elizabeth Mathias Fuqua on
November 13, 1903, at the Metropolitan College of Music, Cincinnati, Ohio.

The fraternity has as its purpose the advancement of music in America and throughout the world,
the promotion of musicianship and scholarship, loyalty to the Alma Mater,
and the development of a true bond of friendship.

The Fraternity is composed of Collegiate Chapters, Alumni Chapters and Allied Members.

Mu Phi Epsilon Foundation Logo
Through its philanthropic work, the Mu Phi Epsilon Foundation supports the aims and purposes of the Fraternity with music scholarships and grants awarded to members through a competitive process.

The Foundation is supported by contributions, memorial gifts, grants and bequests from individual members, chapters and friends of the fraternity.

The Foundation stages the Mu Phi Epsilon International Competition and organizes the Mu Phi Epsilon Artist Concerts. Philanthropic gifts support summer music programs at such places as Aspen, Banff, Brevard, Chautauqua, Music Academy of the West, Round Top, Tanglewood and others.
The Foundation also contributes to various year round music programs around the country.
